As we approach our 8th anniversary milestone, WopeCar continues to forge meaningful partnerships that drive brand trust and amplify the work of inspiring local brands. Supporting people, organisations and platforms that move culture forward has always been at the heart of what we do.
That’s why we sponsored Debonair Afrik’s Style Lounge Weekend, one of Ghana’s key fashion and creative arts gatherings. As the official mobility partner, our job was straightforward and made it possible for people and ideas to get where they needed to be.
But this partnership was about more than transport. Both our brands share a commitment to creating opportunities for young people, giving them the space, tools, and connections to grow into the best version of themselves. For Style Lounge Weekend, we understood that for what they needed to do, that meant moving more than just vehicles; it meant helping move the ambitions of emerging designers and stylists who are shaping Ghana’s fashion future.
- Why Style Lounge?
Style Lounge Weekend isn’t just a fashion event but also a launchpad for young Ghanaian designers. Through competitions, mentorship, and visibility, the platform invests in the next generation of creatives who are shaping Ghana’s cultural future.
At WopeCar, advocating for young people has always been part of our journey. So when the chance came to support a platform that showcases local talent and opens real career paths for emerging designers, we saw a clear road ahead.
This partnership wasn’t just about providing cars. It was about being present in a space where our mobility solutions could help move something far greater; the aspirations of young creatives determined to turn their visions into reality.
2. What We Did – Driving Dreams Forward
WopeCar’s role was simple: move people who are moving Ghana’s creative industry forward.
We provided transport for key participants in The Fashion Education Scholarship Program, an initiative dedicated to promoting growth in the Ghanaian creative space by offering scholarships, mentorship, internships, networking, and career development opportunities to young, talented, and aspiring fashion creatives.
The journey ended with the announcement of two scholarship winners. These rising talents will now have access to professional training, financial aid, and a network that can propel them into successful careers in fashion. By getting them to each stage of the competition, we weren’t just providing mobility, we were helping drive their dreams into reality.
3. Why It Mattered to Us:
We saw an opportunity to place mobility at the heart of cultural experiences, making it part of how people connect with fashion, art, and ideas.
It was also a chance to expand our reach, working not only with businesses and everyday customers, but with stylists, designers, event organisers, and other creatives who depend on reliable, flexible transport to move between locations, meet deadlines, and deliver their work. By being present in their world, we showed how WopeCar can meet the demands of the creative sector, where timing and access are essential.
This experience marked another step in our growth from a car rental service to a brand that moves with people and culture. Along the way, it created relationships and leads that can open doors across the creative industries in the years ahead.
As WopeCar turns eight, we look back on partnerships like this as markers of how far we’ve come. They remind us that growth isn’t only measured in numbers, but in the spaces we enter, the people we meet, and the ideas we help set in motion. Each collaboration has challenged us to think differently, explore new territories, and expand the role we play in the lives of those we serve. The journey ahead is open, and with every mile, we are shaping a path that carries both our purpose and the people we move.
