Will my US or UK card work?

Yes. Payments run through Paystack, which takes international Visa and Mastercard, and we also accept Mobile Money. Prices display in USD, EUR or GHS. One tip: tell your bank you're transacting with Ghana first — a first charge to a new merchant abroad is exactly what fraud systems flag.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. We hold a GHS 500 refundable deposit, returned after the car comes back and is checked. It covers the ordinary things — damage, traffic fines during your rental, fuel returned short. Nothing else comes out of it.

What if my flight is delayed?

Give us your flight number, not just an arrival time. A number can be tracked; a time can't. Your pickup then moves with the flight instead of leaving without you. It's the single most common reason airport pickups go wrong, and it's entirely avoidable.

December booking questions

How does the DETTY10 discount work?

Enter DETTY10 at checkout and 10% comes off your rental total. The booking must be made between 1 October and 12 November 2026, for a pickup between 1 December 2026 and 5 January 2027, with a minimum rental of three days. It applies to the rental rate, not to fuel, extras or the refundable deposit.

When should I book a car for December in Accra?

Four to eight weeks ahead. Ghana recorded 141,186 international arrivals in December 2025, up 11.35% on the previous year, and those visitors compete for a fixed number of vehicles in Greater Accra. Larger SUVs and 7-seaters go first.

Can I cancel if my plans change?

Free cancellation up to 48 hours before pickup, with a full refund of everything paid including the deposit. Cancelling between 24 and 48 hours before pickup refunds 50%, and inside 24 hours no refund applies.

Will my international card work?

Yes. Payments are processed through Paystack, which accepts international Visa and Mastercard, and Mobile Money is also supported. Notify your bank before paying so the transaction isn't flagged as unusual.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. WopeCar holds a refundable deposit of GHS 500 or 25% of bookings at GHS 2000+, returned after the vehicle is returned and checked.

What happens if my flight into Accra is delayed?

Provide your flight number after booking to our support team. Your pickup is then tracked against the flight and adjusts automatically to a delay.

Can I drive myself, or do I need a driver?

Either. Self-drive is cheaper and more flexible. A driver is worth it if it's your first time driving in Accra, you're arriving jet-lagged, or you'll be out in the evenings — December traffic is dense and parking is difficult. Many visitors take a driver in the city and self-drive for trips outside it.
